Chipotle Chili Sloppy Joe is the first sloppy joe recipe I have ever made from scratch and it made me wonder what took me so long. I think the spice level is just right however if you don’t like spice then I would omit the jalapeno pepper. I hope this sways you away from sloppy joe mix as well.
I like to freeze the leftover Chipotle Chili meat for a quick dinner on a night that I don’t have time to cook.
I found this recipe in my Taste of Home Healthy Cooking 2017 Annual Recipes Cookbook.
It is hard to use up one can of chipotle chili in adobo sauce in one recipe. In order to prevent waste I chop up the entire can of chipotle chili in adobo sauce. I scoop it with a teaspoon then place it in a ice cube tray. Freeze for 24 hours then transfer to a freezer zip lock bag. This adds convenance when I want to add flavor to other dishes by tossing in a cube. Check out other food that can be frozen in a ice cube tray here.
